Stage 5: Stage 5 is a class for 5-6 year old and will focus on introducing the very basics of Hip Hop like footwork, waves and popping. The moves will be broken down and explained in a fun and playful way. (45 mins)
Grade 1: Grade 1 is a fun-focused class for 6-7-year olds and will explore more of the foundation of Hip Hop. The basics will still be explained and practised and be built on slowly. (45 mins)
Grade 2: Grade 2 is a class for 7-8 year-olds and will continue to build on the Hip Hop foundation so that it becomes muscle memory. The pace will become faster and different dance moves will be put together to make combinations. (60 mins)
Grade 3: Grade 3 is a class for 8-9 year-olds. The foundation of Hip Hop is pretty well established and moves are added together to make more complex dance combinations and to flow from one to the other. The class is fast-paced and students will have to exercise their memory to remember choreography. (60 mins)
Grade 4: Grade 4 is a class for 9-10-year-olds. This class will introduce more complex Hip Hop moves like harder footwork, waves, popping, tutting, gliding and more. The class is fast-paced and will focus on learning choreography and dancing with corporal and facial expression. A basic understanding of the Hip Hop dance foundation is needed to do this class. (60 mins)
Grade 5-7+ Grade 5-7+ is a class for 11-year-olds and up. In this class, the Hip Hop foundation is well understood and the students can move easily between one style to the next. The choreography is much faster and more difficult. Complex dance combinations will be introduced and memory, musicality, expression and energy will be focused on in class to not just do the moves but perform it. (60 mins)
Breakdancing: This class is a class for 8-14 year-olds. It is a fun energetic form of dance that includes stylised footwork and athletic/acrobatic moves which are generally done on the floor. This class will exercise upper body strength among other things and will focus on introducing the students to working on the floor and to practise the transitions from standing to the ground. (60 mins)
Stage Dance: This class is for 9-14+ year-olds. Stage Dance will focus on introducing other dance styles such as Musical Theatre, Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Each term will introduce the foundation of a dance style. Expression, musicality, energy and memory will be required and exercised to not only learn the choreography but perform it. (60 mins)
